MODERNIZATION – AUTOMATION CONDENCER T90, MAST FOODS, ALMIROS (VOLOS)

The project involves the modernization and automation of a condenser tomato on company premises in Industrial Area Almiros. The condenser was off ten years and the system was based on mechanical function. So, been replaced by engines operating with steam but two well placed instrumentation levels, pressure and brix. Instead of manually operated valves were placed with the new which could be manual or automatic (via PID Control) function. The capacitor consists of three stages of compaction, a water column and a cooling tower. The level of each stage is controlled by a valve. The operator may manually opens and closes the valve with scale steps 0-10, while in automatic mode sets the desired price level and the valve opens and closes according to PID Control on a scale 0-100%. In the water column vacuum is created in the system making it and the boiling of material. Also in the water column fitted body level so that with the help of a back valve to keep the water at the desired levels. Customer  ‘s desire was  pumps and cooling tower fans run manual and at the two pumps operating with steam just recording speed. The third and final stage is mounted gauge content of juice from regulating the speed of the inverter to the pump of final product. In automatic mode the operator sets the desired brix value of the product and PID Control by regulating speed inverter and in the manual mode operator can configure the speed as he wants. Thus the operator monitors the levels, pressures, speeds and brix in real time and can intervene in the system easily whenever deemed necessary. All the system controlled by PLC which is connected to a screen Human Machine Interface 15” and a PC. The HMI is located on the electrical panel, which was built for automation, and it handled the system while the PC is in office and it is no able to intervene in the system. The PC only shows and records in real time all data.The system is in operation since August 2009.
